What is DitherNote?
DitherNote is a filter for Blender 5.0 and newer, that transforms an image into a style indicative of old video game consoles and machines.
What is included?
The pack includes both a Shader version, setup so you can convert existing images/photos or videos into a dithered image, like this.
And an easier to use Compositor version that you can just drag into an existing blender scene and it just works, like this.
There are even more applications than those two if you try hard enough.
How to install?
All you need to do is download the .7z file, unzip it, and add that folder as an asset library inside of blender via "Edit > Preferences > File Paths > Asset Libraries". Although the "DitherNote - Shader.blend" file is actually setup to do the whole converting media to dither thing, so if that's all you want to do, you don't even need to add it as an asset library. There are full instructions inside of each respective .blend file, so make sure to read those. There is also a video tutorial on Youtube if you find that easier and less boring to understand.
Is it free?
DitherNote is 100% free to use with no strings attached. Although it would be nice of you to credit me/this addon, for both my sake and the viewer's sake, it is not required. Also it would be nice to donate but again it's not a big deal.
